Project Overview
George Washington High School wanted to revitalize two important areas: the student-run garden and the entrance orchard. The garden’s giant retaining wall had been painted years ago by non-professionals and was peeling, leaving the space looking worn. Meanwhile, the orchard needed an inspiring touch for students passing by every day. The goal was to create vibrant murals that celebrate Denver, diversity, and the school’s student-led initiatives, while inspiring curiosity, pride, and reflection.
Our Role
Bright Space Murals led the full process from concept to completion. For the garden, we removed old, peeling paint and transformed the retaining wall with a mural representing the city, the school’s diversity, and the student-run garden. For the orchard, we painted an inspiring quote: “Every great tree starts with a single seed. What will you plant today?” We worked closely with staff and students, creating an engaging, collaborative experience that encouraged participation and ownership.
We are absolutely thrilled with the murals that Bright Space Murals created for George Washington High School. They brought our vision to life in a way that exceeded all expectations—the murals are vibrant, inspiring, and truly reflect the spirit of our school community. Throughout the entire process, they were collaborative, creative, and professional, ensuring that every detail captured our values and culture. The murals have transformed our building, creating a welcoming and uplifting environment for students, staff, and families. Every day, we see students pausing to admire the artwork, and it has quickly become a point of pride for our school. We are so grateful for the artistry and dedication Bright Space Murals brought to this project. Their work has left a lasting impact on GW, and we cannot recommend them highly enough!
